The scene of a crying child on his way to school for the first time or the fear of losing a loved one is a gut-wrenchingly familiar situation to most of us. Indeed, it is the fear of separation from our loved ones which makes us fear such situations. Though it is a feeling that can be outgrown through the years, it is not completely eliminated, lingering in the shadows. In extreme cases, the separation anxiety manifests with a host of other psychological conditions that cripples the quality of life of the sufferer.
Separation anxiety is primarily a condition seen as a normal growth phase of child, which grows from the completely dependent infant to a growingly-independent toddler, recognizing the separation between him and the parent.
